A Little About Me

New York, New York
As a newly married woman, it has become my mission in life to learn how to cook. Gone are the days of picking up sushi and ordering curries. In order to jump-start my education, I enrolled in the Institute of Culinary Education's Fine Cooking I course where I learned the basics, from roasting to boiling to mousse-making (ok, maybe not that basic)! I've attempted to replicate some recipes - somewhat successfully- and create a few of my own. This blog is for friends and foodies and is intended to document my cooking adventures (and occasional fiascoes). Enjoy the pictures and bon appetite!

What to Make With Steakhouse Leftovers

How many times have you been in a steakhouse and ordered more juicy meat than you can handle finishing? It happens. Often! Last week at dinner, my husband ordered a filet, and took the leftovers home. As usual, it was my job to make him a nice sandwich using the leftovers for work the next day. I'm not going to post a recipe for this one since it's kind of easy, but all I did was.........

slice open a nice ciabatta roll and spread a little pesto on both sides...
saute some onions and red peppers to pile on top....

slice and layer the leftover steak on...

and top with fresh arugula and tomato slices!
